About the Show

Kimberly Akimbo tells the heart-warming story of teenager Kimberly Levaco who has an extremely rare condition that causes her to age at a rapid rate. As she grapples with her disease, Kimberly navigates typical teenage issues, all the while grappling with her dysfunctional family. Kimberly deals with a dad who drinks too much booze; a neurotic, pregnant mom who’s harboring a deep family secret; and a con-artist aunt who is on the make. But Kimberly finds friendship with a nerdy fellow sophomore who loves word games (especially anagrams). He has a unique way of looking at life – and at her. As Kimberly races against time to experience life and find happiness, she teaches us to seize the day and learn to embrace life.

It asks big questions about family and mortality. It’s unabashedly heartfelt and irresistibly funny. Like life, it’s inherently sad and a little absurd, and like its subject, “Kimberly Akimbo” is exceedingly rare and almost impossible not to love.” - Variety
